The 9 mm SIG MPX Copperhead is an ultra-compact AR-15 type semi-automatic built around a 3.5” carbon steel barrel that has a 1:10” twist ratio and an integrated muzzle brake, so no thread required! It comes standard with a 20-round magazine or a Colorado-compliant 10-round mag.

The gun has an Elite Series upper receiver that features a rich Cerakote FDE finish and an integrated stock knuckle lower. The receiver is stopped by a fairly long monolithic M1913 Picatinny rail. In back is SIG SAUER’s own Pivoting Contour Brace (PCB). It attaches via a short, vertical Picatinny rail. One can easily fold the PCB back to the left when it’s not needed.

Ambidextrous controls such as the magazine release, bolt release, charging handle and fire selector make this Sig readily usable by both right-handed and left-handed users.

The Copperhead uses a short-stroke gas piston that allows the SIG MPX different types of 9 mm ammo without having to adjust the gas valve.

The gun has an alloy forend, a black polymer grip and a covering the receiver, etc. Everything is either FDE or black. Operations are via a single-stage polished hard-coat trigger circumscribed in a slightly oversized trigger guard.

So back to the dimensions. They are impressively small. The gun’s maximum width is 2.4”, height is 8.0” and overall length is 14.5”. Overall weight is just 4.5 pounds.
