The Seller should contact each winning bidder (the Buyer) with information on the total
cost of the purchase including shipping and sales tax if applicable. The
Seller should
tell the Buyer where to send payment and what payment methods are acceptable. The

must send payment directly to the Seller. If the item is a modern firearm, the
Buyer (or
the Buyer's firearms transfer dealer) must send a signed FFL copy to the

Description for Item # 144549613
This is a Griffith & Howe custom stock for a pre-64 winchester 70 Super Grade, cloverleaf tang. It is pretty rare to find a factory SG stock, but this is the only G&H stock I have ever seen. It retains the factory length, length of pull, and has the original steel bird's beak buttplate, properly inletted, has the factory grip cap, and the factory Super Grade Sling Swivel bases. This stock was a definite upgrade, with more distinctive grain, and 14-16 line-per-inch checkering, having 10 points on the forearm, and 7 points on the grip. Correct SG swivel bases, grip cap, and buttplate are bringing around $200+ these days, so my low reserve for those items plus the stock is a deal. No cracks or splits anywhere.
Obviously, it has been inletted for a Redfield or Lyman receiver sight, which was a common thing done pre-war (pre-scope, for most folks). The good news is that it was done properly, and will fit the correct sight, if you have one. The lower radius of the rollover cheek pad has some small scuffs or scratches on it. Please ask me for more photos if you are interested. This stock was used for hunting, has a number of shallow scratches, NONE through the finish, and some faint handling impressions. It was certainly never abused. It has never been refinished. For an item that is likely 65 to 70 years old, it is in great shape. Overall length is 32". Mounting holes are 7.5", center-to-center. This is a rare bit of Model 70 history that would brighten up any Super Grade rifle.
